Zahara

Zahara Kathleen McLellan was awakened to her Love for Oriental Music as a child and in 1969 began exploring this world through playing The Turkish drum, Darabukka She found a teacher, Vince Delgado, and that helped her on her path of discovery. She has been blessed with the opportunity to work with many musicians from various cultures. These included musicians from Egypt, Greece, Turkey, Tajikistan and Iran. Her love and appreciation for these cultures grew and she became a part of many different groups over the years. She currently plays with the World Music group Sherefe, who play music from all these places.
